Most of you guys saw my a-5, its kinda beat up and stuff, do you think I should sell it for a sp-8 or would I not get enough by selling it?

Hey buddy, I saw your A-5. Yeah, it was fairly beat up, but as long as it works good, I would not trade or sell it based on looks. You could always get shrouds to cover the body if looks is what you are concerned with. However, if the performance is an issue, we could either get it rebuilt or upgrade the internals.
In my personal opinion (based on other user reviews and chatter) the SP-8 versus an A-5 performance-levels are real close. The SP-8 might be a tad bit better (shot consumption and consistency); however, with RodentX's issues on his marker yesterday gave me a new perspective and insight into the differences. My new take on this difference is that although the SP-8 might be a bit better in performance, the A-5 is a bit more rugged. I say you keep your A-5 marker and we trick it out. We could even take out the cyclone feed and put a Q-Loader on it...that is if you want to shoot faster. With that said, if you decide to change markers altogether, send me an email (john@milsimproducts.com) and give me a chance to compete for your business. |

thats true, I have been able to literally throw myself with my gun in the middle into solid cement walls and keep shooting fine. I doubt that the plastic sp8 will be able to do that than.
what exactly does a regulator do? and is it worth its money? if so which one? |

RodentX has played many games with his SP8 (he was one of the first people to buy it when it came out) and this is the first problem he has had. But if you are not as technically proficient as he is you are much better off with an A5. I think since you have an A5 you should just upgrade it. I am sure you saw Ghostman's A5 yesterday, he can hook you up with a shroud and foregrip. The regulator will help, but it depends on a lot of other factors. Are you running HPA, do you want to invenst in a LP kit, etc... The LP (low pressure) kit on the A5 requires a regulator and combined they do improve the performance of the A5. The downside is that they increase the profile of your A5 considerably. If you are interested Jax has a LP kit on his A5, and there are photos of it on our site under RedMonkey's gallery. |

maybe late in the game, but I agree with the above. Keep the A5 and save a little longer to get the SP8.
I have a very basic 98C (and a 16" JJ Ceramic) that I'll keep for backup, or for my wife to play =). If something were to happen to the SP8 then you won't be left high and dry, although you might be too disappointed to play. Eventually I'll upgrade that gun too with a shoud stock and response trigger. |

RedneckA5, bring your gun next game like we talked about and we'll see if we can't get you up and running.
Do you think you can make it to the November scenario? |
