Tippmann A-5 Cyclone
What up, SMUTers?
As many of you know, my cyclone died on me a month or so back.
I will be contacting Tippmann eventually and hopefully they will provide replacement parts.
However, I would like to get some feedback from everyone on the Cyclone UPGRADES that are currently on the market.
Post links, give me reviews, prices, all that good stuff.
This thread will most-likely be flooded by GM because I will probably be buying from him and it will depends on what he has to offer.
Thank you in advance.

Just installed a Vortex Mod because my Ratchet went bad. Pretty difficult install but from the parts it seems like it will be much more reliable. It looks like one of those parts that should have been metal from the beginning.
Other than the Vortex & a new QEV there really aren't any other upgrades for the cyclone outside of new hoppers for it. At least none that I am familiar with.
I just bought some Shocker Lube today so I'll let you know how the Vortex works once I get a chance to lube it and try it out. Hopefully it works well or I might be borrowing a marker on New Years day! lol

Yo u have options
#1- Vortex mod from tech-T paintball- I use this in all my guns and it's asesome. Just have to lube it every 4000 rds or so.
#2 Lightning rod from tech-T- Works with the vortex replacing the plastic rod.. great performance
#3- jet click from JCS. similar to the vortex.. I don't use it but I have heard good things about it.
QEV- Many different types available all usually work
Personally in my SAW I use vortex and lightning rod with a qev.. My gun will fire over 22 bps without chopping easily.. and no more broken ratchets.

The way yours broke is very odd, usually they just strip from use. That is crazy.
Thanks for the heads up, Zeus...I didn't know you had to constantly grease the vortex.

Ha ha... that's funny. You may need some medication if you hear your marker talking to you but funny none the less... hehehe.

A whole lot of ratchets died at Gary's Field. I believe there was 4 casualties. So I repaired Ferals on Sunday that he broke at Practice.
This is the little piece that broke off the ratchet.
Once this part is broken the Cyclone will eventually become useless. You may be able to get some single hots off but you might as well play pump action. HAha Koolaid and RM
After removing the long and short pins out of the old ratchet place them in the new one. Just make sure the long is facing the right way
