Where is the Cleveland Paintball Forum?
We will post updates in this thread, CPB should be redirecting here shortly. Some of the Data Bases on the forum were corrupt and could not be copied over to the new dedicated server so we have to do a fresh install of the forum.
This is a rather time consuming process as we will be copying over DB's so that we can make every attempt to preserve data. No one will have to sign up for the forum again or anything, we will be transferring everything to the new forum. Take this opportunity to spend some time with your family, CPB will be back shortly! For the time being, this forum is available if you need to post something for the CPB community. Thanks. |

If Fets was assisting in this, in any way, there is your problem.

Re: Where is the Cleveland Paintball Forum?
Just to clarify what's going on, I'm currently reinstalling vBulletin on CPB's new server. I found out the original CPB database was corrupted (many tables fubar'd). In the process of migrating the old database the migration kept failing in numerous places. I tried to repair the database, but had no luck.
My original intention was to do the server change in phases. Phase one was to just move CPB to it's own server and make sure everything transferred okay. With CPB back online, phase two consisted of preparing the forum for a major upgrade. The third phase was to take CPB back offline and complete the upgrade. The final stage was to test the upgrade and return CPB back to normal... well that all went to hell in a hand-bag really quick. Now I'm doing everything all at once. The process is very time consuming and delicate. There are so many tables within the CPB database which need to be migrated individually over to the new database. Once the migration is complete and verified, then I can do the upgrade. Please accept my deepest apologies and hang in there - I'm doing the best I can and as fast as I can. |

STATUS UPDATE #1
I've deleted the entire forum, original database and I've installed the default forum software. I'm about 50% complete with the migration from old to new as well. All icons, avatars, profile pics, and signature pics have been copied back to their original locations. Calendars, forums, moderator info (including logs) have all been migrated. More to come shortly. |

STATUS UPDATE #2
I'm about 75% complete with the migration. I just finished migrating all settings (forum path, images etc...). I also got all the private message settings, messages and private message logs copied. Some events and additional calendar information was migrated too. I'm in the process of migrating all subscriptions (forum, thread, posts and events) Next I take on the big stuff; threads, posts and users. So far so good! |

Re: Where is the Cleveland Paintball Forum?
STATUS UPDATE #3
The forum is 100% Migrated and 100% Upgraded! I finished the entire migration and upgrade just after 4:00am this morning. I've been testing the site the past few hours, and so far - it appears to be working just fine. I've run multiple scans on the database as well - no database errors/corruption. There was a problem with the Frequently Asked Questions section, but I believe I've ironed out that issue. Other than the photo gallery not installed and tested - the only issue I see remaining is that most custom signatures did not migrate correctly, so our users may have to reapply their signature. I have all the images, so if someone would like their original artwork back, just send me a PM and I'll apply it for you. You'll just have to explain to me, the best you can what your signature looked like. Lastly, none of the original plugins/mods or add-ons have been reinstalled. The board is bare bones. The default vBulletin skin is the only skin working right now too. Over the next few days, I'll start to apply the various plugins/mods and add-ons so bare with me if the site goes down for short periods of time. The next time you refresh or page transition, the forum may look different. I'm going to do a quick compare of the forum settings and permissions, then turn the forum back on. Thanks for your patience and enjoy the new forum. |
