MMG 2008 Recap Thread
I know that everyone was telling some pretty wild and awesome stories at the field this weekend, so gentleman please post your glory stories in here for the rest of the guys to read and see what they missed.
I'll start:
We were packing up camp and had everything put away except for one pair of unidentified boots setting on the picnic table. Reno, Phiberoptix, Barak and myself were trying to determine who the owner might be. Iceman, Sir_sprays_alot and 8UP had already left for home, so we weren't sure if they had forgotten their boots.
The entire time Dobbs is sitting 3 feet away listening to us while apparently not listening to us and staring off in the distance. After about 4 or 5 minutes of discussion Dobbs leaps to his feet and proclaims they are his boots. LMFAO.
Sorry not a paintball related story but one I swore to Dobbs I would make sure and pass it along in return for him letting us spend 5 minutes trying to figure out who's boots they were while he watched.
I did have an a-hole ramp his Shocker and put 5 paintballs into my ear hole from 6 inches away while taking photos. That was freaking awesome!

LOL Fets I pretty much was staring off into space. I didn't even realize you were discussing who my boots belonged too.

Re: MMG 2008 Recap Thread
Got some pics of Barak over the weekend:
And a map of places he would like to support:
I'm going to write up my story of my 4th Quarter Adventure and add some illustrations to it.

Re: MMG 2008 Recap Thread
The last session it wasnt ignored, They had about 150 people in there, me and a guy with an Autococker COMPLETELY flanked them unseen. We go to shoot, and his batteries die and he walks away quietly as to not alert them. Im behind a bunker on the right side of the trail, pop up, see about 90 people with their backs to me, and unload at full auto for about 5 seconds before they realize that I am behind them. I duck after shooting like 20-25 people and just take cover as a hail of fire from the other 100 some people all shoot me. Someone got a lucky shot over the bunker and I called myself out. It took the red team general ( who was in the city at that time) to yell at everyone to cease fire, ran over to my bunker, asked me if I was okay, shook my hand saying that was a hell of a flank, then walked me out to the nearby trail so red didnt shoot me.
It was epic.
Also, in the 4th quarter, there was a plane that was chasing us near Archie bunker and I ran up and yelled at the guy to throw his last grenade at me so that everyone else stopped running away. The guy gets about 3 feet away and throws it at the ground. I dont even get a SINGLE DROP of it on me. EVERYONE, including the ref just starts laughing at the guy and he runs away on his airplane.

Re: MMG 2008 Recap Thread
Well the attendance numbers are posted, but I call shenanigans on them.
Monster Game Scores & Head Counts
2008 Head Count
RED Saturday 799
RED Sunday 712
RED Both Days 1,511
YELLOW Saturday 562
YELLOW Sunday 564
YELLOWBoth Days 1,126
RED Total Players 1,511
YELLOW Total Players 1,126
TOTAL PLAYERS
Including Special Guest Players & Mercenary Forces
2,687
It says yellow had more players on Sunday than we did on Saturday! That is absurd, I saw at least 75 people pack up and leave on Sunday! They are obviously just counting the people who paid for a Sunday registration, which doesn't reflect on field players at all.
Yellow was outnumbered by 237 players on Saturday! That is 30% less players and we were up by 2,000 points end of the day. HooRah! That is what I call an ass kicking.
21% difference on Sunday, not counting all the people who left. Red had 148 extra players registered on Sunday.

Re: MMG 2008 Recap Thread
So by my math...
Red had 25% more players (both days, actual registration numbers).
Red won by a 9% margin (22,812 to 20,842).
Yeah, I know I am justifying the score from a losing team perspective... but I am tired of those punks talking about how they were just so much better organized than Yellow and we would have done better had we been as determined as them. lol

Re: MMG 2008 Recap Thread
In a game this big, having that many people makes the world of a difference.
If they were even, we would have owned them
