And Fets, it sounds like 1 day is a compromise, and isn't that what marriage is all about? She wants you to stay, you want to go; each side gets a little bit of both. But yeah, it is all about compromise in this situation. I will hold out hope of going for the weekend, but if I can only do one day I would rather do that one day than miss it completely.

That works when it is a good relationship.

I have compromised. Hell, I have even let her have it completely her way and she still bitches.
