Hi,
I'm Scott. Been playing since 87/88. Not much to say. Wife, kids, house, and a zillion paintguns-err, sorry, "markers." Looks like a nice site. Glad to be here. Found out about it via a card left at Underground Sports in Cuyahoga Falls btw. Man, I can't believe I had to pass on Tucker's modified A5 (I'm gonna cry about that for a long time!) See ya round

Re: Introducing Blackrain
Hey, really glad to have you on the forum. We go to Underground frequently for air fills and paint & we get all of our MilSim & woodsball gear from MilSim Products
What kind of gear do you like to use? Where do you usually play at? |

Re: Introducing Blackrain
My friends and I have been playing at one of their houses for the last 5-10yrs. He had a place with 70+acres all around and some great terrain. Two years ago they moved, so we started playing at yet another friend's house near Warren. He's got 80+ acres and most of it hasn't been touched in 100yrs-total virgin woods. It's the best for woodsball. This year we started playing on the vacant land behind my house. It's hilly, great atv trails, huntin trails, etc, some open field, some woods, some wide open areas. Very diverse. In all three cases, the games revolve around BBQ. We gear up, go out, play a few, come back, burn meat, have brats, burgers, and beer, then when settled, we go back out for a few more games, come back for food etc., then go back out. Usually get about 8-12 games in-very low key, pure fun. Lots of screwin around. We do purely woodsball with some milsim scenarios. Got this Saving Private Ryan one where we put a hunter's blind (ie a camoflaged tent) at one end of an open field, mark off a landing craft area, then blow a whistle and have to rush the treeline behind the tent. One of my friends has a tricked out Matrix that works great as an MG42 in effect. Sometimes we'll put some plastic lawn chairs out there to act as tank traps for cover, have even tangled a spool of string to act as barbed wire. OMG funny like you wouldn't believe.
Top ten? wow..that's a tricky one. I've got an A5 right now, but easily the best and favorite of all times is this SL-68II with a 20" smooth, no tricks brass barrel. Thing is just one of those that came out of the box working fine and has ever since. The 20" barrel helps as much as poss with accuracy for the first 16-18", then the remaining length evens out the velocity. Never EVER varies more than 3fps (and that's on a bad day). Will forever miss my SMG60's Had all the original PMI series (from the pistol before they even had pumps on em to the latest sheridan pistol; KP3, PMI I, II, and III, Magnum) I've got a Pirahna with an egrip I like, but the velocity is VERY poor. wow, there's just so many-and so many mods. Just gotta say my SL is still respected on any field I take it to, and it always pays its way. That's the best without a doubt. If you guys like Underground Sports, say hi to Dan. I took him to his first paintball game looooooong time ago. I had a Nightmare (actual brass one too). He used a Rapide, we ran down a path, got right into the crossfire of our guys and the bad guys and completely screwed everyone's plans by getting into a 360degree shootout. He was hooked. Dan's a really good guy on and off the field. Hope to meet up with you guys for some paint throwin sometime!! -Scott |

Re: Introducing Blackrain
Did you play at Indian Springs back in the day or spend much time at the store? If so I may know you. I worked at the field as a ref for 3-4 years and worked at the store for 2 years before Dan worked there. He actually replaced me when I left. I also played at Blackhawk in Strasburg alot. Not sure if your familier with Dale from Boa Barrells he also ran Blackhawk.
