Hey- this is Wayne.
I'm 32, married with four kids. Been playing paintball since 1991 or so. My best friend and I started with Splatmasters in the woods of southeast Ohio. Over the years I got to know that 20 acres like the back of my hand. As we got older we started buying Pro-Lites to rent out to our friends, we actually made it official and had an insured field for a few years. Really, it was just an excuse to play more woodsball. I sold a few markers to buddies: Spyders, VM-68s, and a Stingray I think. We never turned a profit, but we always had a ton of fun.
I moved to Colorado and went through a few years without paintball, but it was something I always wanted to get back into. My wife noticed this and surprised me with an A-5 three years ago. Since then I've got the fever again. I started organizing games with coworkers and replacing most of my old gear with new stuff.
I got interested in SPPL, and started a team with a guy I met on the SpecialOps forum. The ten of us competed in the Utah Qualifier this past May and had a great time. Since then I'm sold on the SPPL format and the sportsmanship it fosters. My teammates and I got to talking and decided to start a podcast with a woodsball theme. It's going pretty well and helps me feed the addiction. I'm interested to hear how the NEOSMUT podcast develops.

Welcome to our boards Vortex! You going to want to talk to RedMonkey regarding your more indepth Podcast questions. Our (his) Podcast is in early development, but already has some promising results (if you haven't already, check out his Promo). RedMonkey has worked in the Radio business, so he already has that radio voice and personality to make a Podcast really effective. The right hardware and software are a necessary evil, and can be expensive. Topics, Topics, Topics - I can't stress how important it is to have topics, interview field owners and refs etc... Talk to your local PB shop owners get the inside scoop on marker development... anything that will keep your audiences attention.

Have an agenda, scrip and closing slogans. At the end of your cast, recap the things you talked about, and keep your Podcast relativly short. Too long of a cast will bore your audience. I can go on and on, but I think you get the general idea. I'd definitely speak with RedMomkey though - he can give you some tips and pointers and ideas for hardware/software.

Along the same lines as RodentX, set your goals. Make sure they are attainable and reach for them.

And as you move forward, try and keep those goals within scope. Often times we find ourselves overanalyzing the situation and losing site of the goals we set for ourselves.

And ADVERTISE. Podcast live or die based on good advertisement. Go to as many paintball forums as you can and post your links.

And welcome to the forum!
