Tactics in Books Factual and Fictional

As a bit of a follow-up to Ghostman's thread- What books have you read demonstrate good tactics? They can be Fact or Fiction cause many fiction books are based off of actual battles (Master and Commander series, Sharps, etc.)

To start: Fiction
The X-Wing novels by Aaron Allston (Wraith Squadron) -small unit commando tactics
The Gaunt's Ghost's novels by Dan Abnett -Neo-gothic scout soldiers, sometimes over the top, but usually pretty realistic NOTE: these are considered the contemporary of the Sharps novels
The Eisenhorn Trilogy and the Ravenor novels by Dan Abnett -Neo-gothic special police usually involving stealth
Dune by Frank Herbert- okay maybe not all tactics but...desert warfare!
Fact:
Quartered safe out here by George MacDonald Fraser- memoir of the jungle fighting in WWII Burma, most definitely one of the finest books of tactics and reality of the "forgotten war"
The D-Day Experience by Holmes- more of a memorabilia book, but includes many maps and strategies of the Allies/Axis.

SAS book of Survival- I do not own this book, but it is almost the BSA handbook of commando work from what I've read.

The Art Of War was a book on strategy, not tactics... Although, as a guide on strategy, it is, indeed, a solid guide.

Tactics win skirmishes, strategies win wars/scenarios.

Re: Tactics in Books Factual and Fictional

One Shot-One Kill, Charles Sasser and Craig Roberts
Just about anything written by Tom Clancy (not authors writing his concept stories)
Swat Leadership and Tactical Planning, Tony Jones (this one is particularly good)
SAS Survival Handbook, John Wiseman (mostly fluff, but some good information)
Several Robert Ludlum books are also very good sources for individual tactical concepts.
