Re: Getting a Phenom...

Hrmm... alright. I am going to try to get that screw out tonight. I wanna keep the metal innards, but I'll just put the plastic paddles on and see if that helps. Any word on if the red hot works with the phenom?

Sorry no, the Phenom is only a Tippmann on the outside, inside it is a whole new beast!

Probably no reason to replace the guts.

Re: Getting a Phenom...

Yeah talked with Jax about that on the phone a bit ago. I replaced those crappy FLASC squishy pads with the stock plastic paddles, using their metal rod/ratchet assembly. I gave the old alan bolt, and washer to my dad to go custom make me a better part from his work. So... we'll see .. I tested out the gun in the back yard with the plastic paddles and it seems to work just fine now. We'll know for sure come D-Day. And for that reason alone I'm bringing both guns.

If you've screwed up some of the parts, Tippman might be nice and send you a replacement for free, especially if it's brand new.

I owned a flatline for a while. It did not like high end paint at all. The expensive stuff ius usually more brittle for use in tournys with the high end markers that are really gentle on paint. I'd say his advise on the paint quality was bogus.

Check the end of your bolt where it comes in contact with the paint. There have been plenty of comments over on the X7OG forums where that bolt had sharp edges where it can in contact with paint, and people were getting barrel breaks.

And as far as your cyclone goes, return it to stock and see if the problem is still there.

I run my Phenom all stock with a J&J edge kit. No issues at all with it.
yah, I have read on the same forum that people have had to completely disassemble their marker and polish and remove all the burs from manufacturing. The people claimed the marker worked perfectly after the messing around. It is a shame they have to do this.

Re: Getting a Phenom...

Well as far as add-on parts are concerned here it is with the Hammerhead barrel kit I ordered. I have a feeling the bipod is going to look silly but oh well.

I think you may have some trouble making sure your bipod stays in tact...looks as though some of the discs may fall out during a charge.

Hahahahaha, That was great Ghost I actually spit up my coffee when I read that. No fear however, the bipod I got from you should suffice just fine... Just wish my foregrip was about 6 inches longer.

Did you get one that could be barrel mounted or just goes on the rail?

You got the weaver rail version, which in my opinion is the better version. It isn't good to have something that could put any force or stain upon your paintball barrel--they don't make them as think as real gun barrels. Also, the barrel versions don't fold-up out of the way.

Oh good, well we'll see how it all fits today. Just checked the tracking number and it arrived in Cleveland at 12am. So assuming our postal service doesn't decide I do not need it today, I should be toying with it when I get out of work. I'll post another picture for sure.

Re: Getting a Phenom...

Well, here she is, in all her glory.

Possible future options include a bigger foregrip and maybe some more rail toys and internal updates... but as far as I'm concerned... she's battle ready.

Re: Getting a Phenom...

Just sucks I don't have the yard to fire it. I'm going to pack it up and head down to pinnacle this weekend to fire it on their range and sight in my red dot.. Hopefully Tony wont mind too much.
