I made some really cool modifications to my X-7 today. I added a new Collapsible Butt Stock and Adjustable cheek Piece from Command Arms Accessories. I have a few more CAA pieces in mind to finish out my X-7, but those will have to wait a little bit longer.

One of the really cool mods I added today was a simple on/off button to my E-Grip. No more will I be searching for something to turn my X-7 on and off again. I found a thread online where someone tried a Proto Rail (PMR) On/Off Button on the E-Grip, and what you know it fits perfectly - no grinding, no resizing, no work at all. It took me a whole five minutes to install it.

What I like about it is that it sticks out just enough to be able to turn the X-7 on and off, and it does not get in the way. the button fits perfectly between your fingers (with and without gloves on). See the attached photos.

BTW, I have one more On/Off button available if someone wants to do the same.

I don't see why not - I think the E-Grip is the same, so it should work just fine.

Sweet!

I want one of those!

It is such a pain in the ass to try to turn it on, especially if you have to do it in the middle of battle.

i just found this out. with the phenom when you shoot on semi it doesn't use the battery. then when you switch to full auto it automatically turns the battery on and you can start blasting people. you don't have to press the on off button on the grip.

Re: Recent Modifications

I think you need tan rail guards and it will look awesome. Ask John to bring some to the game.

I have some concerns about your on/off mod from experience. I did a mod like that on my A5 when I had the e-grip, it was the exact same concept just with a screw instead of that nice button. Because it sticks out I would hit it while in a fire fight or something and not know it. And mine didn't stick out as far as that button does.

I spent 30 min crawling into position at MMG in the swamp just to find out I had put my A5 into programing mode and I had no idea how to get it to fire again. It was dead.

The problem is that is just a retarded place to put an on/off and Tippmann is stupid for putting it there.

So, I think it looks great but it will lead to problems from my experience. Especially with gloves, you have no idea you are hitting it!

But your X7 looks crazy awesome.

Re: Recent Modifications

Did you have a different scope on it at one of the previous games?

Looks awesome, agree with Fets on the tan rail covers.

Re: Recent Modifications

I agree with Fets, you need something tan in front to complement the tan in the back. just my two cents worth.

Nope, you might be thinking about SP-8 - I have a different scope on that one.

I could swear I told you that. Besides you have a switch that turns from semi, to full auto... Why on god's green earth would you want another button when it's just a switch flip away.

Re: Recent Modifications

Anyways nice X-7 Rodent, can't wait to see how well it preforms for ya. Though if it were me, I think they have the Phenom grip with the selector switch you can buy. I'll show ya on game day.

I just read online that the phenom E-grip will not work with the original X-7 --- would have been nice though.

Re: Recent Modifications

I got my rail guards today from Magpul... check i out - a splash of color helps draw your eyes away from the stock. These rail-guards are awesome. they do not slip on/off, rather they snap to the rails.

I just have a few more cool mods to add, and my dream marker will be complete.
